FOR EDUCATORS : Vision Problems
What Can I Do about Vision Problems?

It’s hard for you to do your job if kids don’t have what they need to see in the classroom. For some kids, glasses can be a simple solution and for others more follow up care may be necessary. It is not your job to diagnose students, but if you suspect that a student has poor vision, you can reach out to their family members. You may also reach out the school nurse to have the student’s vision screened.

You can help students with vision problems by seating them in desks that support their learning (i.e. closer to the board or towards the center of the room) and making sure they are wearing their glasses as prescribed. Explore our materials on how you help keep your students’ eyes healthy and ready to learn below.
